Organic walnuts fresh from the upper Tons Valley, Uttarakhand!
Villages in our valley have hundreds of walnut trees. Many are endemic and some are planted. Wild trees are spread by birds and small mammals, while local people plant a tree or two in their fields. Our walnuts are completely organic. There is absolutely no fertilizer or pesticide used.
Surplus walnuts are dried and sold by women in the community to earn some extra money for the household kitty. We are supporting these hard working women, who pluck the walnuts, sort and dry them!
