Description
Wild Fiddlehead Fern Shoot (Linguda) Pickle is a himalayan and north Indian special! Our mountains and northern plains come alive with the bright green shoots of the fiddlehead ferns in late spring and early summer.
Our river valleys and mountain slopes are full of ferns and fern shoots are consumed widely as part of the local cuisine. It is common for villagers to go daily to forage for shoots. Shoots are especially plentiful after a spell of rain.
Fernshoots are prized for being a rich source of many vitamins and iron. They are a very easy to cook and aid in digestion as they are rich in fibre content.
In fact, since age-old times, mountain communities have been preserving fern shoots in the form of pickle and drying in the sun.
We are bringing to you the traditional pickle made with fern shoots. This pickle can be enjoyed as it is or paired with any food as it is so yummy!
The pickle is made from the most tender and fresh shoots that have been painstakingly foraged by villagers for us.
